Day 7

“But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

Your family of origin has had a huge impact on who you are today, how you believe and how you respond to the circumstances around you. Our parents and siblings, even aunts and uncles shape us. And even when we grow up, get married and start a new family of our own, our origins remain with us. Sometimes we see this as a negative. Inevitably there will always be things we want to leave behind from our family. But our families are also a great place to find support.

How do you think your family of origin has influenced the way your current family relates or makes decisions? How do you think it has influenced you personally?

One of the most amazing things is that God, in his love, has embraced you and brought you into His family. He has called you to be one of His children, and the faith that he has given to you shapes everything about you. It can even reshape the way you and your family relate to each other. In the midst of anxious times, consider how God is shaping your family’s interactions. What might need to change to decrease stress or anxiety with your family?
