Day 9

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

What’s guarding your heart and you mind right now? To be honest, I’ve not ever read Philippians 4:6-7 and considered it from that point of view. Most of the time I find that my mind and heart are open to all sorts of influences that usually lead both of them to experience anything but peace.

One answer to the anxieties in our lives is to allow God to be the one the guards and keep sour hearts and minds. Rather than spending hours reading through political articles and tweets, or watching the most recent updates on the pandemic, we should take that time and pour ourselves into God’s Word. It’s then that God will guard our hearts and minds and its then that we will find the peace that we are looking for. What’s guarding your heart and mind today?
