A German Christmas Service

Saturday, December 16 at 3:00 PM

Join us for a special German Christmas service. The sermon will be in English, but the prayers and hymns will all be in German. There will also be a reception to follow with traditional German cookies, music, apple cider, and hot chocolate.

Why do we have a German Service?

Many of the first German settlers in this area are responsible for establishing our church and school.

In the 1840s German immigrants established an agricultural community called Big Cypress on Cypress Creek in Harris County. Adam Klein and his wife, natives of Stuttgart, Germany arrived in 1854. Twenty years later they-with the Bernhausen, Benfer, Brill, Kaiser, Lemm, Theiss, and Wunderlich families and soon joined by the Klenk and Strack families-organized Trinity Lutheran Church, which became the center of religious, social, and educational life at Big Cypress.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family

Trinity offers three options for adopting a family for Christmas. With these options, the adopting family provides the presents and Trinity’s Food Pantry will provide the food baskets.
