2 Samuel 9:9-10

2 Samuel 9:9-10

9 Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. 10 You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for.

It was not enough that David reached out to show kindness to Mephibosheth. David made sure that everything he could possibly need was taken care of it. There was not one thing left undone to assure that Mephibosheth was well cared for. This is what grace does. It leaves no stone unturned, and nothing left undone. It fills our cups to overflowing and then some! God never looks at us and says, “Well, that’s enough grace for you.” No, He just keeps pouring it out on us.

God has provided for us through Jesus everything we need to live in His Kingdom. He showed mercy upon us and forgave our sins. He washed us clean in our baptisms and adopted us sons and daughters. He keeps us day and night and we live our lives. He provides food, clothing, house and home, children and all things in life. And, in the end gives us eternal life and an eternal place at his table and in His family. That is amazing grace that is simply more than we can comprehend.
