Pharisaical: the practicing or advocating strict observance of external forms and ceremonies of religion or conduct without regard to the spirit. Pharisees in the time of Jesus were so preoccupied with the laws of God that they ended up missing His grace. Unfortunately, that spirit of being pharisaical still finds its way into our lives. But the good news of Jesus is an invitation to receive a renewed spirit and to enjoy “A Heart for Greater Things.”
