Day 13

“Tell everyone who is discouraged, be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue…” Isaiah 35:4-14

In class this last Sunday we talked about stopping our tracks. Jesus stopped to engage with the woman, he changed his plans to attend to the father’s daughter. Jesus stops in His tracks to attend to our needs and prayers. The challenge often is whether or not we are finding a way to stop in our own tracks and attend to the needs of others.

The disciples’ response to Jesus when he asked who touched Him, was to counter with, “How would we know?” They were on a mission following Jesus, they acted as if they did not have the time to stop and find the woman in the crowd. It seemed like a ridiculous request of Jesus. God often gives us ridiculous requests to stop us in our tracks and attend to the needs of others.

Being aware of how God is speaking in our day-to-day moments allows us to be in tune with the Holy Spirit and ready for when He stops us. Each time, it can be a moment to, “Tell everyone who is discouraged, be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue.” Today, pay attention to the little moments where God might be trying to stop you and turn your attention to the needs of others.
