From Birth to Legacy Planning
Trinity Klein Lutheran Church believes that spiritual formation starts in the home and is supported by the church. Our Faith Milestones ministry is being created as a way for the church to walk alongside families through their life of faith. Throughout the program, we recognize significant life stages and connect them to faith development. Beginning at baptism our children and youth ministries partner with parents and children offering faith and developmental support. We also know that significant life stages are present in and throughout adulthood such as engagement, marriage, parenting, empty nest, and legacy building for the future. Through the Faith Milestones ministry, we want to journey with you through all these major stages helping to connect life and faith together. The Faith Milestones will incorporate spiritual conversations, devotions, rituals, and even gifts to commemorate the different moments in spiritual development. There will be times when certain milestones are celebrated within the regular worship service with the whole congregation while others are celebrated among the families and individuals reaching the milestone. Over the next few years, we will be building out the milestones and making sure that families and individuals are aware of them and know how to participate. We pray that this partnership ministry will help us bridge the gap between home and church that can occur in spiritual formation.
CURRENT FAITH MILESTONES

This is the first and most important of all Faith Milestones. If you’ve not been baptized we invite you to contact one of our pastors and find out how you can be baptized.

The Spiritual Treasures milestone lays the foundation for future milestones. Here we build a faith chest to keep important moments in and learn why marking special spiritual events in our lives is important.

When every child completes the faith steps program that begins at birth and runs until they are two, they are given their first Bible. Through this Milestone and the Faith Steps program, parents are encouraged to begin the process of discipleship with their little ones.

Starting School is a significant moment in a child’s life filled with excitement and fear. It brings big changes to a child’s life as well as a families life. This milestone is designed to celebrate the event and support parents and children through the changes.

Entering into worship is a major milestone! Whether this is a child’s first time or they’ve been coming since they were infants, this milestone is designed to help them become more acquainted and comfortable in worship. Parents will get tips on how to help their child enjoy the service and each child will receive their “passport to worship” to remember this milestone!

The Apostles’ Creed Milestone is designed for 1st and 2nd graders to understand the meaning of the statements of belief that are recited together as the body of Christ.

3rd Graders will receive an ESV study Bible. Parents will help them learn to navigate through God’s Word as they learn how the Old Testament and the New Testament give us God’s Word and true promises.

As we grow and mature our bodies go through dramatic change. Parents and students come together to learn what those changes are, what to expect, and how our bodies truly are a gift of God to be honored. Dads join their sons while moms go with their daughters.

Receiving the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for the first time is a major milestone in our discipleship. It shows that we have matured in our faith, learned the foundations of Christianity, and are able to come prepared to receive this blessed meal. Adults complete the communion class while students go through their own instruction.

Before heading off to college, students gather with their families for a service of blessing. Special prayers, words, and Scriptures are spoken over each student and each is anointed in the name of Jesus Christ.

A Faith Milestone offered for all adults to walk them through legacy planning, including planning for funerals, financial gifts, and the impact a life of faithful stewardship can make for the Kingdom of God.
