STEPHEN MINISTRY

Do You Need Someone to Talk To?
Life can be overwhelming. You may be carrying a burden that feels heavy, isolating, or exhausting. A Stephen Minister can walk alongside you with care, compassion, and prayer.
Stephen Ministers offer one-to-one support for people experiencing:
* Grief after the death of a loved one
* Illness or hospitalization
* Divorce or separation
* Job loss or financial stress
* Loneliness, discouragement, or burnout
* Life transitions or ongoing struggles
What Stephen Ministry Is:
* Confidential
* Free
* One-to-one
* Christ-centered
* Supportive, not judgmental
Stephen Ministers are not counselors or therapists. They are trained lay caregivers who listen, pray, and remind you—week after week—that you are not alone and that God has not abandoned you.
We Are Looking for Stephen Ministers
God often uses ordinary people to do extraordinary work through simple faithfulness. If you have a heart for others and a willingness to listen, you may be called to serve as a Stephen Minister.
Stephen Ministers are men and women of the congregation who:
* Have a growing faith in Jesus Christ
* Are willing to listen without trying to “fix” people
* Can maintain confidentiality
* Desire to serve others during difficult seasons
What’s Involved:
* Approximately 50 hours of high-quality training
* Ongoing support and supervision from pastoral staff
* A commitment to serve for about two years
* Weekly one-to-one meetings with a care receiver
You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need special experience. Training, resources, and support are provided every step of the way.
Many Stephen Ministers say this ministry deepens their faith, strengthens their compassion, and allows them to see Christ at work in powerful, quiet ways.
We prayerfully invite you to consider becoming a Stephen Minister. If you would like more information or want to talk about whether this ministry is a good fit for you click below:
